Some questions about a belly button piercing?

first off, i would just like to say i%26#039;d prefer not to see %26#039;wuss%26#039; or %26#039;skank%26#039; on these answers. people don%26#039;t ask questions to hear that kind of stuff.

anyways, when i usually get piercings, i shake a lot and my palms get sweaty. ( which is probably very common. ) and i%26#039;ve always wanted to get my belly button pierced.

i can handle the after pain of it, and the cleaning and such.

but i just have troubles with shaking violently before the piercing.

i was just wondering, how much does a belly button piercing hurt on a scale of one to ten? ( about a 4 or 5 being a normal ear piercing )

how long does it take to heal?

are there any prescriptions or other medication you can take to relax before you get a piercing?

You could just get numbing gel... I have never had the piercing done myself, but I hear it doesn%26#039;t hurt that bad.

Depends on what your body considers painful. What maybe be painful to some may not be as painful to you. When I got mine done, I did not feel any pain, instead it felt like a hard pinch that lasted for a few seconds. Its bearable. Just make sure to get it done by a pro piercer who uses sterlized equippment and hollow needles. Don%26#039;t worry about the nervousness this is normal. Navel piercing take btw 6-12 months to completely heal. I don%26#039;t recommend changing the jewelry until after its fully healed, changing it before its healed can cause a delay in the healing process and infection. There is no need to take any medication, the piercer will give you a few moments to relax and will talk it through, it%26#039;ll be quick the piercing process usually takes a few seconds. Good Luck.
Reply:it feels like a hard pinch with ur nails..it stops feeling sore after a few days 2 a week, but heals in 6 mnths..for me the ear piercing was worse..it felt like the cartilage piercing
Reply:3 or so its not bad at all just don%26#039;t get it caught on anything bc that%26#039;s hurts. healing i anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on your body (about a year for mine). umm you could try a lil benadryl to relax
Reply:I have the worst luck with getting piercings...I threw up on one piercer before but in all fairness, I got the center part of my ear pierced and it really hurt. However, when I got my belly button done, I didn%26#039;t even feel it. It is nothing but skin and fat that gets pierced, just like your ear lobes so I say go for it, stay calm, and just dont look at the needle and you will be just fine. The biggest problem that you seem to have (as well as myself) is your nerves so go someplace that you trust and try not to focus on what is happening. But it really doesn%26#039;t hurt at all.
Reply:I remember when I got mine when I was in 10th grade, I was shaking like crazy because I was terrified, but I warn you...try and to be as steady as possible because the last thing you want to do is shake and cause your piercer to stick themselves.

I say just try to stay as calm as possible, and while they pierce you KEEP YOUR EYES CLOSE AND DO NOT LOOK AT TH NEEDLE. Oh an make sure to eat something and drink water before you go.

As for the pain I would honestly rank it as a 1 or 2, this piercing really did not hurt me and it was my first body piercing. It becomes sore after wards but make sure not to lay on your stomach when u sleep and when you are showering/bathing be extra careful in that area, you do not want to bump it.

As for the healing some say 6 weeks but I kept mine in for two months just to be safe.

I am not sure if there are any types of medications to help you relax, I say just try to think positive and think about how awesome you belly will look after wards.

Really hope this helps.
