Do you believe that a tattoo can actualy do this?

I%26#039;m getting a tattoo on my 18the birthday (next month) and its going to be a hibiscus flower on my ankle. My reason for getting this tattoo is because i believe that it represents happiness and beauty. I am hoping that this tattoo will help boost my self confidence and give me high hopes since im going off to college in the fall. I also feel that it represents %26quot;the new me%26quot; because im so happy to be starting off fresh in college.

Do you believe that a tattoo can actually boost your self confidence? Or am i hoping for to much?
Do you believe that a tattoo can actualy do this?
If you believe so it will. 100%
Do you believe that a tattoo can actualy do this?
no
Reply:I think that if you believe that it will boost your confidence it will. Enjoy it.
Reply:I don%26#039;t see anything wrong with getting it, especially if it%26#039;s in a place such as your ankle. I think a flower is a good choice, and I also believe that it can boost your self-confidance, if you believe it can.

Reply:no youre right. when i got my ears pierced i had a lot more self confidence because i thought i looked more attractive, and others found that true too.

when i got my first tattoo (asian symbol for love) a lot of people noticed it and complimented me. it also serves as a reminder for me, as it can for you. maybe a fresh start or celebration. its actually very personal as it is appealing, so yes. it can boost your self conf. cont. to believe in your self!
Reply:I believe it will. It seems to mean something to you so I definitely believe it will boost your self confidence.
Reply:if you end up loking the tattoo, yes.
Reply:Sounds like you might be a bit undecided and are trying to convince yourself that it is the right thing to do. Maybe you could write down reasons that you want the tattoo and reasons why you might regret getting one. Talk to people you know who have them and if your really feel very insecure or need to build your self confidence maybe talk with a counselor.
Reply:i reckon it can boost self confidence.... hibiscus are pretty flowers.. i 4 the ppl who are saying u will regret it later in life.. thats ur choice... u can look at later on and go ew or say oh i rember when i was 18 and i got this for my bday
Reply:I understand what you%26#039;re saying. I got my first tattoo today of some kanji that has meaning to me. I%26#039;m also 18 and heading to college and I just wanted something to remind me of the past, present, and my future. I think you have to be confident and courageous to get a tattoo, so you should be proud! It might definitely boost your self confidence.
Reply:It was recently my 18th birthday and I went and got a tattoo. I%26#039;m still super excited about it. I feel that it did boost my confidence some because everyone keeps saying how awesome it is. Some say I was so brave to do it. I think it depends on the person and the feedback you get back.
Reply:A tattoo cannot change your life, attitude or self confidence. Only you can do that. The fact that you are going to college should give you plenty of self confidence. Not everyone can do that, you know! You%26#039;re obviously a very smart woman to accomplish that.

But you need to be smart enough to realize that no one has a lot of self confidence at the beginning of their freshman year, or their first few months in a job, etc. Until you get to know the ropes, study the campus (so you always know where you%26#039;re going) and get involved. THAT will help to raise your self confidence.

If you really want to get a tattoo, get it somewhere where it doesn%26#039;t show. By getting it on your ankle, you are limiting your job options. The tattoo will mean the same thing on your derriere as it will on your ankle. And you will have a little secret that will make you smile when you think about it and make everyone wonder what you%26#039;re thinking about.
Reply:A tatto might actually bring you down.

If you believe you will have a good year %26amp; with the help fo God you will have a good year...%26amp; not get the tattoo.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (New International Version)

19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

p.s. it means that your body is the temple of God it is not yours..%26amp; you should care for it fro it is Gods. God died on the cross for you for your freedom for your health for your everything and because he loves you so much He died for you the least you can do is honor Him with your body and not tattoo it.
Reply:Yes it can.

It also becomes a great reminded of good things when things seem so bad.

Though it isnt a %26quot;gaurentee%26quot; that the tattoo will do anything of the sort. It all depends on the person.
Reply:Sounds like a beautiful tattoo and for good reasons, I hope you like it. In my opinion it is more like a placebo, you convince your self it will boost your confidence and it will because you have convinced your self it will. If that makes any sense. So in a way yes in a way no.

Good luck with your tattoo and college!

Reply:i dont think it will completely change you, however it will make boost confidence. i just got my first tattoo, for my eighteenth birthday, and i feel hot, even though it doesnt show you know its there. and in the end i love seeing ppls faces after i%26#039;ve shown them it, they are amazed that i could tolerate the pain. trust me, it will make you feel good, however be careful, they are addicting,i got mine 4 days ago, i%26#039;m ready for my next one :)
Reply:I dont know if it will boost your self confidence or not, but I do believe that you are one of the few people getting a tattoo for the RIGHT reasons. Getting a tattoo should mean something %26amp; it sounds like yours does, therefore, I think it will be uplifting for you.
Reply:To be honest, yeah. I think they can. I don%26#039;t have much self confidence, but I have quite a few tattoos(currently working on a chest piece) and I find that since I have this beautiful artwork on my body that I am a more confident. I love to show them off and I have gotten in many conversations about them with complete strangers; seeing as I%26#039;m quite shy and would normally not get into any kind of conversation with anyone I didn%26#039;t already know hahah....
Reply:i believe because you believe.

i have a tattoo that i got as something of a badge of honor after living through an extremely traumatic experience. i find that it%26#039;s something of an amulet that i can never take off. it%26#039;s a constant reminder of my strength and will.

i think that your hibiscus will be a constant reminder of the idealism you felt toward the future at the moment you received it. and whether or not you feel that idealism in the future, having the constant reminder alone will have a positive life effect in and of itself.
Reply:umm you sound like you are on something. tattoos are just things you will regret when you are older. honestly i wouldn%26#039;t get one if i were you. also after the years it will get smudgy.
