i got my belly button peirced 3 months ago and i just changed it. is it going to be okay? will it get infected? what do i do if i think it is getting infected? how will i know?

Its not recommended to change the jewelry out until the piercing is fully healed which can take btw 6-12 months for a navel piercing. Changing the jewelry can result into irritation causing an infection because of the change in metal quality while it was still healing. What also can happen is that you could have easily ruptured or tear the inside of the piercing which can happen while inserting a barbel before its healed. Since you have already changed it, I hope its a good quality metal with no nickel and it was thourougly cleansed before you put it on. Keep an eye on it, if its starts to get puffy, red, hot to the touch or ooze a green or yellow tint discharge go back to your piercer and have them take a look at it. Good Luck.
